Tanya Marchiol | President at Velocity Ready Mix
Tanya Marchiol was expected to succeed from a young age. Growing up poor meant that the only way to attend college was through a scholarship. She did this while attending Indiana University. She returned to the United States to find her way after college and a brief stint playing volleyball abroad.
Starting over, Marchiol became a cart girl on an Arizona golf course, which resulted in a debilitating injury. The golf cart flipped, ripping her leg open, and amputation was considered. Not willing to accept that fate, she instructed the doctors to do whatever it took to save her leg. After 6 months in the hospital, the doctor told her she'd never run again, but she was on the mend.
Years later, as a celebrity runner for the North Shore Animal League, Marchiol ran the New York marathon.
Tanya studied for her real estate exam while in the hospital. She was a real estate leader and mogul who jumped in head first and refused to accept anything less than the best.
Tanya was known as the celebrity and professional athletes Real Estate Guru and was a regular on FOX News, CNBC, CNN, and HGTV for her insight and opinions.
The foundation she preached about crumbled in 2013. The federal government charged her with willfully failing to file taxes. After a lengthy trial, Marchiol was convicted and sentenced to four years in prison in 2015. She was released after 16 months and had to start over.
She rose from the ashes again after starting a business with her brother and opening concrete plants. They currently own several successful concrete plants, and she runs a general contracting business.
Her achievements do not end there. She has always had a soft spot for animals, particularly bulls. In 2019, Tanya began small, purchasing four bulls. She won her region that first year with a yearling named Chinese Chicken.
Marchiol currently has her own bull team competing at the highest level in Pro Bull Riding. Malki, her five-year-old bull, was the highest-marked bull in the 2022 team series.
Tanya's success is based solely on her perseverance, goals, and hard work. Most importantly, she is determined to fail forward.
